When the 12 northern states opted for Sharia law against the constitution, it was business as usual, no body went to jail for subverting the constitution. When they formed Para-military organization, called Hezbollah in Kano to enforce Sharia. it was not subversion.. When the enforcers went into Sabongari,an area that was created for settlers, destroying their businesses, burning, beating and even killing the settlers, there was calm in the polity. We are one country. Nobody went to jail. None of the victims were compensated. We still remain one country. It was not political. The media kept quiet. The victims are sub-human. they are greedy, selfish. infact many argued, go home, why will they not respect their hosts? Imagine buying houses and making money in another mans land. Election time. You were threatened, if you don’t vote for A , its better you pack your loads and go. In Lagos, if you don’t vote for B, you better jump in to the lagoon. Hapless and helpless, they ask, give me freedom, without arms, shouting and singing, give me freedom to stay on my own. you refuse. You kill me because of a cartoon in Denmark, you hurt my livelihood for what I don’t know. You keep me under-represented. No , you are playing politics, they say. why now? we are one country. Nigeria?
