The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, is kicking as investigation has unmasked some top chieftains of the party and ministers in the inner caucus of President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet, who have been sabotaging the effort of the federal government.

Post-Nigerian, in a thorough analysis of a statement credited to Buhari during a recent interview he granted to Al-Jazeera, discovered that the president was obviously referring to some key chieftains of the APC and top members of his administration.

During the interview, Buhari let the cat out of the bag by saying that there are some people in his government, who are sabotaging his administration’s change mantra.

When asked if there are people working, tainting and sabotaging his government, the president responded saying, “Certainly”.

This revelation came against the backdrop of a recent publication by Post-Nigeria which was later parroted by other online media, on “7 key ministers who are absolutely doing nothing”, while Nigeria heads to the rock.

The president had visited the Middle East for a week-long tour, with a focus on ending the global slump in oil prices that has hammered Nigeria’s crude-reliant economy.

Nigeria, which is Africa’s number one oil producer, has been hit hard by the slump, which has squeezed government’s revenue and weakened the naira.

Kaduna State APC chieftain – Lawal Jafaru Isa

The former military governor of Kaduna State and chieftain of the APC, broke the record to become the first amongst Buhari’s associate to be arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Jafaru Isa’s arrest by the anti graft agency was in connection with the alleged diversion of $2.1 billion meant for arms purchase by the former National Security Adviser, NSA, Sambo Dasuki.

EFCC investigators believe that the retired soldier and close ally of Buhari, received over N100 million from Dasuki.

The arrest and interrogation of Jafaru Isa has succeeded in tainting Buhari’s image, with many believing that his party which is advocating the anti-corruption mantra, is in need of serious corruption cleansing.

Plateau State APC Chieftain – Alex Kwapnoe

Kwapnoe, who was a former gubernatorial aspirant under the APC has consistently, openly embarrassed Buhari in most of his public statements.

Recently, he maintained that the current anti-corruption war of the APC government will fail, because according to him, Buhari is fighting corruption with obsolete laws.

In a bid to rubbish the ongoing efforts of the Buhari administration, he recently told newsmen that, “I commend President Buhari’s fight against corruption, but I also pity him, because he is constrained by the obsolete laws.”

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development – Audu Ogbeh

Ogbeh spilled the bean recently when he advocated that the Buhari-led government would soon start importing grasses that will be used to feed cows in the northern part of the country.

The statement has sent cold down the spines of top government functionaries who had put up a defense that, “importation of grasses” is not part of Buhari’s change agenda.
“We are producing massive hectares of grassplots for the consumption of cattle; we have received these grasses from Brazil and we are growing them in massive quantities.
“Cattle herdsmen want grasses for their cattle; such grass is what we are growing in large quantities and, within the next three months, some of these will be ready’’, Ogbeh had said.
Meanwhile Ogbeh’s policy of importing grass is in variance with the ‘change’ mantra of the Buhari administration, which has slammed a ban on numerous importations of foreign products.
Kebbi state APC chieftain – Salihu Isa Nataro

Chief Nataro, a top APC chieftain in Kebbi state has succeeded in tainting Buhari’s image when he alluded that the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, is more qualified than Buhari.

He said in an interactive session with Daily Trust that Osinbajo could potentially replace the president, if the latter chooses not to run in 2019.
Nataro also urged Buhari to encourage Osinbajo by giving him more responsibilities in critical areas.
“Osinbajo, whom I see to be a possible replacement of Muhammadu Buhari is very active and understands the president more than any member of the cabinet. We must be proud of this co-operation to reconstruct Nigeria,” Nataro said.
Ministers of Budget and National Planning – Udo Udoma

The Budget of Change presented by the president before the joint session of the National Assembly last year which was described by Senator Dino Maleye, as a “holy budget” was padded under the watch of the Budget Minister.

As a clear act of sabotage, Buhari made scapegoats of the Director-General of the budget office, without extending the sack to erring junior officers who masterminded the embarrassing errors in the 2016 budget.

From missing budget, stolen budget, withdrawn and padded budget, all took place under the purview of the budget minister. No doubt the controversies surrounding the 2016 budget has succeeded in tainting the image of the Buhari administration.

The Minister of Finance – Kemi Adeosun

The nation’s economy has been unstable since Buhari entrusted the lives of over 180 million Nigerians in the hands of this Diaspora woman.

On assumption of office, the immediate past Finance Commissioner in Ogun State, who rode on the back of Governor Ibikunle Amosun, to get the ministerial position, has been described by many as incompetent.
Reliable sources have alleged that Kemi nearly escaped being sacked by a whisker, for daring to stop Buhari from signing a bilateral agreement between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates, UAE.
With barely ten months down the line, Kemi’s financial policies have not revived the economic doldrums of Africa’s biggest giant.
