Buhari was not just an integral part of Abacha’s 5 years as the Chair of PTF, he was arguably the government within a Government, in whom enormous powers were placed!
Those 5 years will go down as the worst years of our corporate existence as a Nation, and Buhari was virtually the Boss behind the scenes… The present chair of NDLEA was Abacha’s ADC, the present DG of Customs was also in Abacha’s office! Fact!
Now, the pathetic Nigerian mentality talks of 16 years of PDP as rot, forgetting we were just coming out of the worst ever Abacha /Buhari 5 years of perennial petrol queues, political assassinations and virtual lock down of everyone’s liberties.
It was a fragmented nation that PDP inherited.
President Obasanjo, mended the nation greatly by his inauguration of the Truth and Reconciliation panel, to which he himself submitted to, but the “usual suspect”, of course did Not!
16 years of PDP gave us FUEL, GSM, Prosperity as workers, teachers were able to build houses and buy cars, ditto for nurses. Our economy boomed!
Nigeria overtook South Africa as the Number foreign investors destination.
Nigeria, within this period became one of the 4 fastest growing economies in the world! Fact!
16 years of PDP saw Nigeria become the No 1 African Economy, with a robust capital market by the index ratios that placed our SEC as the 8th in the world! Fact!
16 years of PDP gave us cohesion, we bonded well, except when a certain notorious ethic interest decided to wage a war of TERROR, by the very ethnic and religious cleansing of the initial Boko Haram activities – it was later that Boko Haram became uncontrollable from the initial script and they turned somewhat against their hitherto, willing sponsors…
To those who simply are of the “follow follow”, mentality, I have this to say to you:
Was Ngige not a PDP governor and a PDP President caused the election to be reversed in the favor of APGA!?
How old is this government of Buhari’s, that this administration is hell bent on doing everything from kidnapping, to murder, arson and other wastages, just to win ordinary rerun elections in Rivers state!!?
Can any human being even begin to compare The 5 years of Abacha/Buhari’s Nigeria with the 5 years of President Jonathan’s Nigeria!??
In President Jonathan’s 5 years, ALL ELECTIONS WERE CONCLUSIVE AND OTHER PARTIES WON MORE THAN THE PDP DID!
Can we consider, PDP’s and Jonathan’s INEC with Buhari’s INEC!??
Today, inflation has risen from 5.6 percent in May 2015, to 11.4 in March 2016!
Nigeria’s Growth index declined from a steady 7-9 percent throughout the PDP years to the despicable 2.1 percent in Buhari’s 10 months…!
For how long will Nigerians refuse to use their ability to employ Reasoning in determine the assimilation and dissemination of information…!??
And because some politician who has been conning you, feeding you with LIES and employing professional Public Relations firms to help sell his quest to power, came up with yet another deception and Subterfuge to prevent you from questioning his own flaws, by with the phrase, “16 years of PDP’s rot” which indeed has no basis on The Truth Scale and will not survival a Rigorous Reality Check, you too must then take it hook, line and sinker!??
If these 10 months are anything to go by, Buhari has indeed set us back many year, by at least as far back to the despicable Abacha days…
Some readers are wont to ask, why bring Abacha and Buhari together…
The answer is simply this:
The Mentality has Not changed!
At this stage of this very solemn and sublime post, my mind wanders to a clear recollection of an interview, Buhari granted shortly after Chief MKO Abiola, the presumed winner of the June 12 election died.
When Buhari was asked why he didn’t prevail on Abacha to release Abiola, Buhari’s answer was just as brutal – Since MKO Abiola was the one who bankrolled the coup d’etat, that ousted him, he Buhari, would never have lifted a finger to save Abiola!
Need say more about same mentality….!??
