NIGERIAN MEN IN USA, KILLING THEIR IMPORTED WIVES FROM BACK HOME NIGERIA.

Not every man can take the disappointing and humiliation from NIgerian wives imported to America. Wife killers are on rampage in the US.

An Epidemic: Nigerian Men Killing Their Nurse Wives In America over alleged insurbodination and usurpation.

1.  “Yes, I have killed the woman that messed up my life; the woman that has destroyed me. I am at Shalom West. My name is David and I am all yours.” Those were David Ochola’s words during his 911 (U.S. Emergency Number) call to authorities after shooting dead, his 28 years old wife, Priscilla Ochola, in Hennepin, Minnesota.

The 50-years old, husband was tired of being “disrespected” by his wife, a Registered Nurse (RN) whom he had brought from Nigeria and sponsored through nursing school only to have her make much more than him in salary – a situation which led to Mrs. Ochola “coming and going as she chose without regard for her husband.”

The couple had two children – four years old boy and a three year old girl.

2. In Texas, Babajide Okeowo had been separated from his wife, Funke Okeowo, with whom he resided at their Dallas home. Upon the divorce, the husband lost the house to his wife, along with most of the contents therein, as is usually the tradition in the U.S. Divorces where the couple still has underage children.

Mr. Okeowo, 48, divorced his wife because not long after she became an RN and made more money than him, she “took control” of the family finances and “controlled” her husband’s expenditure and movement.

The husband could no longer make any meaningful contribution to his family back in Nigeria unless the wife “approved” it. He could not go out without her permission. Frustrated that his formerly malleable wife had suddenly become such a “terror” to him to the point of asking for in court and getting virtually everything for which he had worked since coming to the US thirty years prior, the husband got in his vehicle and drove a few hundred miles to Dallas to settle the scores.
He found her in her SUV, adorned in full Nigerian attire on her way to the birthday bash organized in her honor. She had turned 46 on that day. Mr. Okeowo fired several rounds into his wife’s torso while she sat at the steering wheel, mercilessly killing her in broad daylight.
3. Also in Dallas (they sure need anger management classes in Dallas), Moses Egharevba, 45, did not even bother to get a gun. The husband of Grace Egharevba, 35, bludgeoned her to death with a sledge hammer while their seven year old daughter watched and screamed for peace.

Mrs. Egharevba’s “sin” was that she became an RN and started to make more money than her husband. This led to her “financial liberation” from a supposedly tight-fisted husband who had not only brought her from Nigeria, but had also funded her nursing school education.
Like Moses Egharevba, Christopher Ndubuisi of Garland, Texas, (these Texas people!) also did not bother to get a gun. He crept into the bedroom where his wife, Christiana, was sleeping and, with several blows of the sledge hammer, crushed her head.

Two years before Christiana was killed, her mother, who had been visiting from Nigeria, was found dead in the bathtub under circumstances believed to be suspicious.
Of course, Christiana was a RN whose income dwarfed that of her husband as soon as she graduated from nursing school. The husband believed that his role as a husband and head of the household had been usurped by his wife.

Mr. Ndubuisi’s several entreaties to his wife’s family to intercede and bring Christiana back under his control had all failed.
If the circumstances surrounding the death of Christiana’s mother were suspicious, those surrounding the death of a Tennessee woman’s mother were not.

4. Agnes Nwodo, an RN, lived in squalor before her husband, Godfrey Nwodo, rescued her and brought her to the US. He enrolled her in nursing school right away. Upon qualifying as a RN, Mrs. Nwodo assumed “full control” of the household. She brought her mother to live with them against her husband’s wishes. Mrs. Nwodo quickly familiarized herself with US Family Laws and took full advantage of them.

Each time the couple argued, the police forced the husband to leave the house whether he had a place to sleep or not. On many occasions, Mr. Nwodo spent days in police cells. Upon divorcing his wife, Mr. Nwodo lost to his wife, the house he had owned for almost 20 years before he married her.

He also lost custody of their three children to her, with the court awarding him only periodic visitation rights. Even seeing the children during visitation was always a hassle as the wife would “arrive late at the neutral meeting place and leave early with impunity.”

Mr. Nwodo endured so many embarrassing moments from his wife and her mother until he could take it no more. One day, he bought himself a shotgun and killed both his wife and her mother.
4. Caleb Onwudike’s wife, Chinyere Onwudike, 36, became a RN and no longer saw the need to be controlled by her husband. Mr. Onwudike, 41, worked two jobs to send his wife to her dream school upon bringing her to the US from Nigeria. After four years, she qualified as an RN. Once she started to make more money than her husband, she began to “call the shots” at home. She “overruled” her husband on the size and cost of the house they purchased in Burtonsville, Maryland. She began to build a house solely in her name in their native Umuahia town of Abia State, Nigeria, without her husband’s input whatsoever.
Mrs. Onwudike came and went “as she liked,” within the US and outside the US. In fact, she once travelled to Nigeria for three weeks “without her husband’s permission” to lavishly bury her father, despite her husband’s protestations that they had better things to do with the money.

Mrs. Onwudike let her husband know that this was mostly her money and she would spend it however she wanted. Through her hard work, she had risen to a managerial position at the medical center where she worked.

Upon her return from burying her father, her husband got one of her kitchen knives and carved her up like a Thanksgiving turkey inside their home on New Year’s Day.

5. Death is death, no matter how it comes. But the goriest of these maniacal killings is probably the one that happened here in Los Angeles, California.

Joseph Mbu, 50, was tired of his RN wife’s “serial disrespect” of him. The disrespect began as soon as she became a RN. Gloria Mbu, 40, had once told her husband he must be “smoking crack cocaine” if he thought he could tell her what to do with her money now that she made more money than him.

Before she became a RN, Mr. Mbu had been very strict with family finances and was borderline dictatorial in his dealings with Mrs. Mbu. However, Mrs. Mbu learned the American system and would no longer allow any man to “put her down.” When Joseph Mbu could not take it anymore, he subdued his wife one day, tied her to his vehicle and dragged her on paved roads all around Los Angeles until her head split in many pieces.

  1. Ask these men what is actually disrespect and youll laugh at what they’ll tell you. I was once married to a guy like these men. He didnt work but I did morning to night. Yet he had my bank card and i had nothing to wear but his clothes. Nothing to spend out of what i earned. One day i got another bank card and changed my pin. If I drink water i’m disrespectful. If i buy clothes for myself im disrespectful. I work more than 100hours a week. If i go to the store i did not tell him..

  2. No excuse for crime but Uche observe that all the cases mentioned above are situations where their wives where all sponsored by their husbands( to whom much is given….) so your husbands case is different….

    1. Really? To whom much is given, much is expected? Is it supposed to include taking a life? Did the husbands give life to the women? That is rubbish.
Surely there are better ways to tame a so called disrespectful wife.
All I see in the events so far,is that some Nigerian men are so egoistic ,that any little mishap threatens their manhood.
They should go and rot in American jails, while their innocent children end up being societal victims, because their parents decided to be selfish.

  3. Commom denominator in this story? The word “NURSE” It’s not by co-incidence that these N8gerian men married women that were either nurses or were forced to study nursing against their will. NURSES procure high salaries, their salaries provides a higher standard of living for these men who by the way, planned to use these Nigerian women from the start. First; they use smart and unsuspecting African American women to secure a Green Card / Citizenships, then divorce them, go to Nigeria, marry some starry eyed woman that’s struggling, bring them abroad (these killings are happening everywhere), put them through nursing school and work them like dogs while they’re in school. Then the woman graduates, she becomes liberated and acts accordingly. She’s not a slave and her baboon husband forgot slavery was abolished in this country and the world over 300 years ago. They call this the land of the free and the home of the brave for a reason! BECAUSE IT IS!!!!!! Nigeria is not a country that protects the weak, innocent, good honest people. It does not care about women. These ignorant men think they are better than animals because they look human. They are no better than zoo kept animals. WAIT…a zoo kept animal follows the rules of the zoo keeper, these baboons called NIGERIAN MEN are worse… They think it’s their world and the wife and children just live in it. (Why else will you take the life of a grown woman just because she’s not listening and hanging on your abusivly demeaning words)?

I’m offended by your ignorant remarks, you are the worst of them, you are a Gorilla with a computer but you must have fallen from a tree because if you are a man born of a woman, you will not write this story from such an ignorant perspective. You missed a golden opportunity to make a difference by standing on the side of those afflicted and powerless, God expects it from those who believe in him.!. Thank God, these men will live the rest of their lives in a zoo called JAIL!! God willing, they will die there and I pray that each moment they breath God’s air is going to be in agony from the soul of those dead women haunting them in their sleep. I pray they are haunted so badly they go insane. I pray an inmate of their peers makes a woman out of them, every day, especially the human looking animal in the top page….the naked upper torso baboon with breasts! I pray they find no mercy, peace, empathy, compassion, kindness or understanding from this day forward. I pray that you; the Gorilla who calls himself a journalist walks the path of these women’s pain some day. I pray when it happens, which it will, you look back on this piece of evil perception you’ve written, and ask God for forgiveness and I pray you never find it. You pieces of shit Nigerian men with baboon brains. No one has the right to put pain on another, especially a woman.

    1. Julia, you wrote out of spite and with words that do not rise above the fray and also do not depict civility of any sort. You could have made your points very succinctly without resorting to abuse. Anyway, that is after all the American way. I do not subscribe to the taking of anyone’s life in any way, shape or form. Life is precious and more than material acquisitions and I believe that once there is life, there is hope. The real victims in all these are the innocent and helpless children left without any parent to care for them. It is not just sad, it is very pathetic. Kenny Roger’s admonished his listeners to walk away from trouble if they could even if they were dubbed the coward of the county. A word they say is enough for the wise and I will add for the prudent too. Y’all remain prayerful and blessed.

    2. People like you are the cause of all these problems. Am sure you don’t have a husband and if you have one you don’t respect him. What makes you think these men are not aware of there purnishment before committing the act. If you think any sensible man will go to the extent of killing the wife because of just disrespect as you call it then you must examine your self. If I should ask you why are these more common with nurses why why . I pity for the dead ones but we should also examine the root causes one of which is mother inlaw 2 friends etc . Dialogue is always the best way out but in a dialogue the woman should always know that the husband is the head if they come into dialogue feeling they are on top because of there money then it will never work. It is only a foolish man that will refuse a legitimate request from wife and please don’t lecture us on your western way of life because we know your type that pretends to have forgotten their root.

If you ask any typical niaja adpiring husband (man) or wife (woman) a particular quality they are looking for in their prospective spouse, they will say it better and faster than their names “Godly or God fearing” just watch as it’s speedily tortured and kicked out of the home and replaced with their actual respective quality they meant -SELFISHNESS, devil and demon accomplices, desiring to reap wher they didn’t sow; REALLY GOD FEARING!!! What an utter digrace to the union and sanctity of marriage. and God. Children are left suffering and floundering.

  4. I have read all the comments here. I will advice the women to continue disrespecting and humiliating their husbands that worked minimum wages, slaved and got humiliated to trained them true nursing school. Why were they always submissive while under training and changed after graduation. They should continue. I wish them well. Those men are not fools. They have feelings too.. For a man to kill his wife that he married and trained with his own money, the mother of his children, he must have really been humiliated. Anyway they should continue to be ungrateful and humiliating. For everything there’s a reward on this earth.

They are devil and will not escape the purnishment of God. After condemning to prison, they are going to surffer in two ways, one in this world and in hell, where they are going to rotten. I pray for the children left behind that God’s protection and glory will be upon them.

  6. So so so sad indeed.
However, let’s not take things personal here.
This is rather a time for sober reflections and about time we all spread the needs to walk out of a bad relationships before love turns sore.
As much as I do not and will never condone volence not to mention murder for any reason whatsoever, in the above cases I positive the guys involved were by all means driving to the moments of temporary insanity.
And it’s usually takes God’s grace and sheer luck for any human to say rational at such instances.
However, let’s us as Nigerians not take the above issues personal, by apportioning blames or calling eachother names.
This should be an eye opener for us all not to expect too much from anyone, regardless of who or what they are or were to us.
Yes I also believes where much is giving, more is supposedly expected.
All this happenings just goes to prove the downsides of foreign countries perplexing so called women libations.
Am a Nigerian and I’ve lived in England since 1978. But I still believe as in Africa, a woman/wife must remain humble to her husband no matter her puplic or buoyant position or dispositions.
I can only pray we women learn from all this.
Of course I am not saying a woman should slave unending for her husband, neither is a man a robot either, but house can become a home if both husband and wife puts heads together as one when it comes to household resources regardless of their respective individual expenditures.
I just wonder why we women are always rebellious when/if we are the one making more monies as a couple.
Though so men can be nasty and bossy simply because they are the sole breadwinner of their home, but it’s surprisingly shocking the rate at which most women lived by their rules as long as their bills are paid.
These men needs help, not condemnations.
Let’s also remember women who kills their husbands for similar reasons too. It’s not just common among African women, but I tell u this for free, there are many such cases happening in western world’s.
May the Lord grant the dead eternal rest in peace.

  7. Many women, especially the Godless, once they become better financially than their husbands (unfortunately, this happens quite often not as purposed by the men in question, but it just happens peradventure and not that the man is dam lazy…no) they ( these women) become arrogant, pompos, proud and incorrigibles! You can’t control them again! They forget their ugly past. They show annoying disrespect to their suffering husband!
And men being what they are have elastic limit to endurance and insults and shame from their wive at the presnce of their children and friends.
The final blow of self defence and retaliation is, by men’s judgement, to strike hot!! By then, it would have been too late to escape by the women because they already had a cup full of venom!! Women must change because men are not fools nor Angels. Men must be smart, intelligent, gentle, loving and wise because women are dangerously unavoidable evil and not Angels!! However, they deserve to be loved, kept, pitied, assisted, groomed, pampered and encouraged. Any man who has not attended The University for Women Knowledge and Management to earn first class degree, before and after marriage, MAY FAIL WOEFULLY!

  8. Tragedy Tragedy. Money is the root of every evil. Men or women shall not kill. Marriage is about love, truth, understanding, peace and faithfulness. it is not about who made the most money. with love in the marriage you will conquer the world. Nigerian men should look at their wives as their missing rib, helper, mother of their children not slaves. you married from Nigeria trained her to control her and her money instead of men to trained themselves first. while not men been a Doctor and the wife a nurse. things will be good. if a woman works 16 hours a day, come home cook, clean, take care of the children and bills. it is so difficult to bear. it brings problems in the family. may souls of the departed people rest in peace.it is ugly situation. may God be with this family. may God be with our Nigerian men and women.

  9. First, I think there is NEED to discuss expectations from wives and from husbands before they get married so as to avoid unrealistic expectations which leads to disappointments and worse.

Secondly, there are resources in the communities that offer counseling services and also the option of divorce where counseling fails. Counseling does not make you less of a man or woman and should not be seen as a sign of weakness. There are experts who know better ways to handle conflicts and even if you were a doctor, it is better to have another professional doctor treat you than for you to treat yourself.

Thirdly and finally, everyone should know that there is law and order in the world and American in particular and that everyone is subject to the law and as such, anyone who decides to take the law into their own hands, no matter the circumstance by becoming a vigilante or executioner, should be ready to face the consequences.

It would also be helpful for families to intervene when they observe that a relationship between husband and wife is deteriorating,

Julia, you made no point because your writing just proved you could be dangerous than the danger itself. In as much as it is bad enough to kill,it is equally worst for anybody to change and challenge gods rules about marriage. What you call civility has destroyed humanity and Gods parttern and rules for his world has taken a second place and the result is that people like you,yet with crazy minds and perception of civility has agreed same way for man to marry a man,a woman to marry a woman because of what you misinterpreted to mean civility for you and your co-travelers.Women equally marry for green cards. The center point is where is loyalty?Where is love that surpasses all, especially in marriage?People like Julia have no husband,She is liberated and from what?Self-inflicted inferiority complex which she could not link to anything real.Any man who brought his wife and nurture her through legitimate means to help build up a family for both of them has very good intentions. That they marry them from Nigeria or elsewhere in Africa means following the biblical rules of marrying from your root, your culture, etc.Wise travelers follow and remember their root and fashion everything along that line.Foolish travelers take over others culture and like exoticfetitich throw away their everything to follow others because they hate where they came from. The white men has rendered us useless in this world! How much money will a woman make to throw away respect for the husband?

  12. Taking someone’s life for whatsoever reason, is a NO NO. However, I wonder why these men choose to bring women to the U.S to study Nursing, when they can study Nursing or Medicine themselves and make the money. If truth be told, this is a case of “using ” or “convenience'”. I bet it’s okay for the women to read, read and read, then go out there and work their lives out. There is no love in such marriages. Yes, the men support these women financially when they are in Nursing school bearing in mind that it is an investment not love. On graduation, the women start working so hard and making the money and the men take few hours job or become house husbands. This is a clear case of “who is fooling who” simple. My take in all of this is that people should marry for love pls…

  13. Hmmmmm,The bible said if the foundation is wrong, all will be wrong.Firstly these marriages are not built out of love but the desire to make wealth.Must these men marry nurses or subject them to read nursing? Again,my sisters,if you have accepted to take up nursing as a career and the men trained you,you should know he expects his family to be better than what it was financially. He sees you as an investment, therefore,he expects to reap from his investment. Be it as it may be,our brothers, you don’t expect such a woman who maybe during her training endured all hardships because she knows it for the time been to still remain the way she was while earning high. This is where being truely children of God comes into play.if love was the foundation of the relationship, who earns higher shouldn’t come into play because it is a collective responsibility. Women are builders not destroyers,we are created with all the passion and compassion inmate of God’s last born therefore,we are epitome of true kindness.we should know that these men are human beings like our Fathers, brothers, sons and I bet all of us,we wouldn’t want our own to be treated badly. But the worst of it all is the act of taking away life,a life we cannot create, why do we destroy it.No person has the right kill anybody,if the marriage is not working again, let them part ways.In the words of Dele Giwa shortly before his death,Every evil done by man must be redressed,if not by Man,certainly by God,for the triumph of evil is but temporary. So let’s remember our rich cultural heritage and value system, family marriage system is key to all our existence.

  17. Most of you contributors failed to hit the nail on the head. The greatest love a man can display to the wife and the world is to bring her out from squalor to wealth. You need to know what poverty really is. Arthur Nzeribe once said what he fears most in life is poverty. Mere taking that poor girl from the village where there is nothing to a country like the USA is what any responsible family should be grateful for in life.Mko Abiola was assisted financially by Simbiat.Abiola respected her even after death. Why was Judas condemned? Because he betrayed his master. The Bible said the man is the head of the house..that women must respect their husbands. All these women are thieves. A hse the man has laboured for 20 years before you married him you now want to inherit. Are you women not aware of OJ Simpson’s case?Instead of all of us to learn from these and correct this urgly behaviour of these women then guide upcoming ones, we are beating about the bush. Whoever accepts offers should co perate to the end. Afterall these men didn’d marry another woman. Can those women train the men and still maintain the family? Mother in laws should learn to be grateful. They are usually the cause of all these.

  18. Summery of it all is this….
Parents : train your children to the utmost before you give them away in marriage,so that the man will not use her as a property to be gotten rid of,when he feels like it.
Complete your responsibilities towards your daughters,or else a man will Lord it over them and even over you.
Men : understand your status as a man. Don’t let your ego get the better of you. Your primary duty is to love your wife, not use your wife, because if she feels used, she would be forced to disrespect.
Women,: understand your place as wives,be a help mate to the man you married,do your God given duty,no matter what, Submit.
It is only a fool who uses her own knuckle to knock her head, because if you knock your head, you will feel the pain. Even with all your money, help your man feel like a man, actually most men are so sensitive ,that they spend their whole life trying to feel like men,and when a minor threat comes, they feel inferior.
Respect your man, that way you are protecting yourself and your children.

  19. I’m confused and petrified. I’m an African American female and a nurse. I found my way to this article while looking for information on nursing in Nigeria. I have been wanting to go to Nigeria since Ancestry DNA test results said the majority of genetics is Nigerian. However, this article has scared me.

The article is confusing because I think the husbands would have had an idea of how much their wives would earn once they graduated. So, why would the earnings be upsetting? This article gives the impression that relationships are much different in Nigeria. Would it be a normal thing for husbands and wives to discuss plans and expectations in advance, surrounding the wife becoming a nurse and the income? Do husbands make all of the decisions and wives are expected to be obedient? I guess I’m trying to figure out why there didn’t seem to be an understanding or agreement between these couples. The men are portrayed as dictators. The women are portrayed as rebellious and spiteful.

U.S. Courts would not normally give a woman a home that was owed prior to marriage. The home would be in the husband’s name as a single individual. Anything owed prior to marriage isn’t marital property. If the husband puts the wife on the property after the fact it becomes marital but she’s only entitled to half the value. So, if the wife wanted the house she’d have to give up other assets to make up the difference owed to him, unless the husband agreed to give it to her.

It’s scary to think I could offend a Nigerian so easily and the penalty would be death.
