It’s almost one year since Dr Jonathan left Nigeria’s Presidency; but his name remains fixed to the mouths of the present administration, their supporters and APC.
While in office, he had his share of criticism, at a time, he became the most abused President in the world. Now that he has left power for those who desperately need it, they have taken the power but passed its responsibilities to Dr Jonathan, thus, he or his party is responsible for the present administration’s irresponsibility, ineptitude, indolence and failure.
This wicked behaviour should be discontinued. Dr Jonathan’s supporters must avoid this temptation. He has played his part; an old sheriff is in power; his party too.
We must not weigh them with the past; we must weigh them with their words, promises to Nigerians, decisions, policies and performance.
Let us credit them when they do well; lambast them when necessary and point them to better ways of doing things. This government needs help; but it must first help itself by looking and moving forward.
No wise driver drives forward by looking backward. This administration must look forward to new and right ways of running a government; of doing things. Nigerians are waiting for the promised change. Hungry and suffering.
Every minute wasted by looking backward elongates their pain and sorrow. The time to effect the change is now. Enough of name calling, blames and excuses. The time to act is now!
