The Chibok saga: Two years and counting.

Governor Shettima is indeed lucky. Apart from Obasanjo who was so friendly with fortune to have been a president two times, Shettima is one of the luckiest men to have come from Nigeria.

He should thank his Creator or whatever god he serves for making him a Nigerian. In saner climes, Shettima will be facing fierce public prosecutors, he will be put under the fire of cross examination while he is behind dock, answering questions as to the Chibok drama. 

None of these happened because he is from a country where governors are prohibited from any form of court trials no matter what they do or did and where GEJ was so scared of the Northern cabal. 

If he were from a sane country with a good and working legal systems, by now, he would either be in jail or facing prosecution in a court. 

This is a Governor that breached security report. A governor who was told by WAEC that Chibok is not a safe place for them to conduct the examination. He lied that prominent Chibok people pleaded with him to allow their children remain in the school and write their exams. But according to an online report, Mr. Hosea Tsambido, Chairman of Kibaku Area Development Union, an umbrella union for Chibok people said that Shettima was economical with the truth because no indigene of Chibok prevailed on him to allow the SSSE to be conducted in Government Girls’ Secondary School, Chibok.

Mr. Charles Eguridu, WAEC Head of National Office said that WAEC prevailed on Dr. Nyesom Wike, then Minister for Education, to write a letter to Governor Shettima, requesting him to move all students to Maiduguri, where adequate security could be provided for them during SSSE. He added that Shettima refused to relocate students of Government Girl’s Secondary School, Chibok to Maiduguri as suggested; rather, he replied in writing that his government would provide adequate security in the school throughout the period of the examination.

This is a governor who some days to the alleged abduction, the principal and vice principal who were Christians were replaced with Muslims, Hajiya Asabe Kwambura and Mallam Yerima Banjiri respectively by Borno State Ministry of Education, under his watch!!!!!

Shettima is a lucky man!
