TRUMP’S VICTORY; THE REACTIONS AND WHAT’S NEXT? ~ By Chris O Maduka.

Now, am talking to the man in the mirror. Listen up;

There’s a way and manner you’ll grieve and weep at someone’s funeral it will raise certain level of suspicion as if you knew what may have been responsible for that person’s demise. 

I wish our people had expressed or still should express the same outrage they have expressed about this election in the last 2015 Presidential election in Nigeria. Some of us amusingly have called the Americans all manners of condescending names simply for responding to what they clearly saw as a clear and present danger with the Democratic liberal approach to certain issues of concern around the world. I do not for a second blame Africans and other minorities for identifying with liberalism, and based on the same reasoning no one should blame the Whites for gravitating towards conservative ideals. 

But in the pursuit of liberalism we must try to separate social liberalism gone too far and arch conservatism gone too far. Extreme left and extreme right wing of the spectrum are both unworkable. If there’s an upsurge in the extreme right wing in America then it is in response to the extreme left wing liberalism gone too far. When President Obama made gay issue the center piece of his foreign and domestic policies, regardless of how right it might appear politically some people will find that offensive. When Hilary Clinton refused to designate Boko Haram as a terrorist group, instead her husband was busy cashing in with some of our dubious citizens and organizations, it did not go down well with people. Remember what BH stands for; “Western Educational is evil”. They did not just say that, they moved decisively to implement and obliterate all things relating to Western values and Christian faith. News travel fast, and Americans are not as dumb as some are regrettably suggesting. There’s no decisive clear cut action or remarks that convinced people that it will not be business as usual with Hillary Clinton.

 There are ignorant and gullible people everywhere. If not, how come we here that claim wisdom have not bettered our lot? How come we swallow anything dished out to us, by not only Government and our over Lord leaders, but by private organizations like; different communication networks, DSTV, even some dubious Indians come here and take us to the laundry yet we can’t even check them for such gauging defrauding of consumers. Where are my IMO and Abia, brothers; how come we allowed the impunity happening there to be happening? But we think that Americans are dumb and stupid. Guess what? They equally believe that we are dumbest people in the world for being supposedly so smart and educated yet we allowed nonentities to be ruling over us. We allowed our environment to so deteriorate that our people are holding vigil at all the Embassies including even Angola and war ravaged countries embassies.

We think the Americans are stupid? How come we are so smart yet the mega churches and the GOs are establishing empires , growing in real estate, buying private jets while people are starving and lacking basic needs? The outrage is endless , yet we have the nerve to open our mouth to castigate people who have gotten it right in just about most human endeavours. I wonder what gave us such authority or moral standing to be so judgemental.

All over the world, people look out for their long term strategic interest. Let’s not fail to understand that Americans project the world way into the future. They realize that you can solve all your past and present problems but you’ve not made a single dent on the future. And those who cannot imagine the future may not be part of it. 

Bill and Hilary Clinton, and Even Obama have ran their race. They’ve served the American people perhaps better than some of the Republicans in some areas, but in an attempt to maintain the fragile patch patch that form the fabric of the liberal Democrats they lost sight of the looming danger of that clash of civilization. To some of you that have castigated and called Americans who voted for Trump dumb, this last election is not even about Trump, it is simply American own version of BRIXIT.

In my view, the stage is now set for the rolling back of that now raging culture clash – the clash of civilization, and guess what? in this unfolding drama, just like the cold war before this, there were allies on the Western side, and there were allies on the Soviet communist side. We have all now lived to see those who bet on the wrong side of history as they later retraced their steps and tore down the iron curtain.

Today, for us in this highly polarised country, what has been a mitigating factor in the Nigerian context; Igbo, Southerner, Christian, social conservative Western education and values, add; hard working, creativity, Commonsense and Republican by nature have all made me a potential natural ally on the right side of history. But so many are too blind to see this rare opportunity that may help to end our helplessness and the onslaught targeted at a people. 

Yes, like one American former Secretary of States once admitted about one foreign leader when he said; “yea, he’s son of the bitch, but he’s our son of the bitch”. Yes, Trumps might come across as “SOB” But

Let’s make him, President elect Donald Trump our son of the bitch.
