1. South Sudan independence was preceded by five decades of scorched earth war – the longest war, anywhere, of the modern era (1955 to 2005).

2. The South Sudanese do not have the creativity of Biafrans and have not been able to avoid the total collapse of their society or social infrastructure.
For example, until Biafra surrendered there were two functional (even if very basic) international airports in what is now Anambra State; in today’s zooNigeria Anambra State does not even have a local airport.

3. No clear cut delineation of Africans/Arabs and Christians/Muslims in Sudan or South Sudan. In Biafra there is no such religious/racial confusion.

4. Southern Sudan (total population: 12 million) has no clear majority tribe – three major tribes (Dinka – 4 million; Nuer – 3 million; and Shilluk – 2 million; South Sudan has about 64 distinct tribes). The Igbos are the clear majority in both the SE and ND.

5. The Southern Sudanese traditional kingdoms are war-like migratory pastoral tribes like the Fulanis of Nigeria. The Biafrans are the exact opposite – Igbos are traditionally democratic and egalitarian.

6. A sizeable Muslim population: one out of every ten South Sudanese is a Muslim. Not up to 0.1% of Biafrans are Muslims.

7. Penetration of Arabic mind-set and ethos: even though Southern Sudan is now independent, its people had been thoroughly Arabized; all South Sudanese speak Arabic and many are sold out to the heartless ethos of the Arab world view.

8. Abysmal literacy rate – UNESCO says South Sudan has the highest rate of illiteracy in the world (over 70% adult illiteracy). Semi-literate politicians see unresolved differences from ethnic lines (In contrast, the National Bureau of Statistics states that SE has the highest literacy in Nigeria, with a literacy figure of about 80% of the adult population.)

9. The two major South Sudanese tribes – Dinka and Nuer are perpetual rivals and bitterest enemies from time immemorial. Both are migratory herdsmen who have always been at war or in conflict. In contrast, there has NEVER been a case of one Biafran ethnic group going to war with the other in modern times.

10. Perpetual Dependency on Sudan: When South Sudan gained independence from Sudan in 2011, it got most of the oil fields, but Sudan controls ALL the means of exporting the oil, setting the stage for a war that has often focused on oil-producing areas. On the contrary Biafra does not need the North to export any of its products.

BIAFRA DOES NOT NEED THE NORTH FOR ANYTHING.
Above all, remember the four-fold ethos of the great Igbo people:

1. EGALITARIANISM

2. ENTERPRISE

3. EQUITY

and

4. EXCELLENCE

(Reference: the Ahiara Declaration)

With these guiding ethos, there is no doubt that Biafra would quickly become one of the most successful nations in human history. Biafra is the hope of glory for all black people!
