I was with the federalist group yesterday. I told them I have nothing against any call for change, but that I believed in the IPOB movement.

Well, we all went to distribute the stickers and flyers of the federalist movement. We covered the Rumuola axis and felt the pulse of Nigerians, especially drivers, traders, and everyone on the move.

Nigerians in Port Harcourt made it clear to us that SECESSION is what they need, not RESTRUCTURING. The head of the Federalist Movement, Tony Osborg, whose book I edited some years ago, had to call me to explain the relation between IPOB and Federalist Movement to some stubborn Nigerians.

Well, I made it clear to the furious lot that there was no need for their anger, since I was also one of them: an IPOB lover. However, I made it known to them that it is a very good thing that the IPOB is not the only group clamouring for change this time around.

I explained further that the disturbance should continue to come from more quarters. This time around no one will call it an Igbo thing. At this point, the irate men were nodding their heads in agreement. Seeing that I had calmed frayed nerves, I had to make something very clear:

THAT WHEN THE FEDERALISTS AND IPOB SIT TO HARMONIZE THEIR CALLS, THE FEDERALISTS WILL SEE THAT WE CANNOT RESTRUCTURE NIGERIA.

It is very clear that a Nigeria where those ready to say “NAY” to restructuring outnumber those with the propensity to say “AYE” in the NASS cannot be restructured. The federalists, especially my friend, Tony, should note that the legislature killed the Bill that wants companies to relocate their headquarters to the source of their raw materials. If relocation of company headquarters to the Niger Delta could not fly in the NASS, is it restructuring that will fly?

The IPOB are saying in one voice “We reject Nigeria”. They want a country they can call their own. All the IPOB want is to pull out from this forced marriage. What the IPOB seek is a divorce from a marriage that should not have been. The IPOB see themselves as Israelites and Nigeria as their Egyptian captors. The IPOB know that Nigeria will never work.

The IPOB know that as long as they remain as captives, they will always be maltreated. I will continue to support their course and cause. Wither they go, I will go with them. Their people are my people. Their dream is mine as well. Biafra is wither we all go. Biafra is the true nation we see. A people so blessed need a good country. I am happy that Nigerians have settled for secession.
