The entire People of Owerri Zone and citizens of Imo State in general hereby declare a week mourning in Imo State from the 1st Sept. to the 10th Sept. 2017.
During the week of mourning, Owerri People and Imo citizens will pray for the repose of the Souls of the dead who were brutally murdered during the forceful demolition of Eke Ukwu market Owerri and the recovery of those currently in hospitals as a result of bullet wounds.
PROGRAMME: 1st Sept. to 10th September.
Friday, 1st Sept. Mass gathering and meeting of Ndi Owerri and Imo citizens at Ugwu Ekwema by 10am. Dress Code: Black clothing or black arm band.
Sunday, 3rd Sept. Mass at Asumpta Cathedral by 9.30am Dress Code: Black
Sunday, 10th Sept. Church Service at CATOL by 10am. Dress Code: black
All citizens of Owerri Zone and Imo State should wear black clothing or black arm band during the week of mourning.
