As the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) grapples with leadership crises, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, has accused the state Governor, Rochas Okorocha, a serving Senator, Hope Uzodinma of destabilising the party.
Ihedioha, who was the governorship candidate of the party in Imo State in 2015 made the accusation at the weekend during a PDP programme in Isu Local Government Area of the state. He accused Senator Uzodimma of collaborating with Gov Okorocha of destabilising PDP in the state, saying they should stop causing problems in the party. Ihedioha said, “I don’t just want to be governor.
Imo is blessed in agriculture, rich in mineral resources, human capabilities and enterprise. We have returned PDP to the people. Hope Uzodimma is a very greedy man. He fought my emergence as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives. He has collected money from the governor to destabilise PDP. We can’t allow bad elements in our party again,” He stated that he won the 2015 governorship election in the state saying, “I believe I won Rochas Okorocha in 2015 but INEC announced him the winner and the courts affirmed it. I have no other option than to address Rochas as my governor because I am a law-abiding citizen.
But please, people should tell Hope Uzodimma to accept the judgement of the Supreme Court which affirmed the leadership of Ahmed Makarfi and should stop causing problems in PDP”. The immediate past Deputy Speaker said, “There are people who cannot be my friends. The only thing that connects us is simply that we are from the same state.
They are negative ambassadors to our state and they are negative people. They feed fat from crisis”.
