Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has released the Chairman of Nigeria’s automobile company, Innoson Motors, Innocent Chukwuma on bail.

This was contained in a statement issued by the EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren on Wednesday night, December 20.

Oblong Media recalls that the Innoson Motors boss was arrested in his residence in Enugu, Nigeria, on Tuesday morning, December 19.

Though the EFCC said the businessman who runs a local auto assembly plant was arrested following his refusal to respond to invitations by the Commission, after initially being granted administrative bail by the Commission, his company, however, maintains that its Chairman was never invited by the anti-graft agency.

The statement reads: ”The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has released Nnewi, Anambra-State born Industrialist, Chief Innocent Chukwuma on bail.
