A nightmare for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has emerged the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 general elections.
•1st – He emerged after the National Convention ended in Port Harcourt on Sunday October 7, 2018, polling 1,532 votes.
•2nd – Governor of Sokoto State and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal gave a good fight, but polled 693 votes to finish second.
•3rd – Third position went to Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki -with 317 votes.
•4th – Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso finished fourth with 158 votes.
•5th – Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo 111 votes
•6th – Former Jigawa Governor, Sule Lamido – 96
•7th – Former Kaduna State Governor, Senator Ahmed Makarfi – 74
•8th – Former Minister of Special Duties, Tanimu Turaki 65 votes
•9th – Former Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Atahiru Bafarawa 48 votes
•10th – Former Senate President, Distinguished Senator David mark – 35
•11th – Former Plateau State Governor, Senator Jonah David Jang 19 votes
•12th – Senator Dati Ahmed – 5 votes
The convention which started on Saturday October 6 2018, featured 3,274 delegates from the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
