The strategy to increase President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s (PBAT) legitimacy by lobbying to make him the chairman of The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) might backfire if he doesn’t skillfully navigate the drifting of the treacherous Niger Republic time-bomb with wisdom and discernment out of the Bermuda Triangle.
It’s so unfortunate that the responsibilities of the ECOWAS chairman has quadrupled overnight. His actions and inactions will be observed closely and analyzed in real-time by the NeoCon and the BRICS nations. The Niger Republic situation will test his sagacity and wherewithal to manage crisis.
PBAT should come to terms with the reality that he’s no longer playing local politics but international politics based on the realities on ground. Every action matters, one reckless statement can put West Africa in flames.
PBAT body language will be observed and analyzed closely by world powers and any wrong decision will explode on his face, hence deeply involving Nigeria in the neocons proxy war leading to a probable 3rd World War.
Politicians, influence peddlers, senators and federal house members who have turned foreign relation experts overnight, encouraging the rascality of sending an unprepared intervention force to Niger Republic, are living in a cocoon of fallacy, blinded by folly and will eat the fruits of idiocy if time is not taken. International security experts are unable to identify the repercussions of such action at this point in time.
Reality shows that our security forces lack the capability to lead an ECOWAS military offensive against the military junta in Niger Republic. Gone are the days of the Abacha military prowess.
The Nigerian State can’t afford to lead an ECOWAS anti coup d’état intervention force because of its weak economy, over stretched intelligence agencies and fatigued security forces due to the war against Boko Haram, ISWAP, Herdsmen Militia Groups, Organized Banditry and Kidnapping Gang.
If after over ten years of fighting terrorist and the terrorist groups are still waxing strong, making Nigeria more insecure, let nobody out of self-delusion think that Nigeria with its depleted security forces can lead an ECOWAS anti coup d’état intervention force with the present disenchantment and over stretched security forces.
PBAT should disregard all these overnight foriegn relation pundits and their minions, and concentrate on rebuilding the Nigerian security forces to its former glory and greater. Then alone, can we “Roar Like a Lion” again!!
