We need a new Nigeria national architecture, which will include the new national culture, new national structure and new national infrastructure for unity, peace and development.

The present inherited architecture is outdated and unable to provide answers to the emerging national questions and challenges. Unless we make a collective commitment to a new Nigeria nation, the old and present Nigeria can no longer serve the founding purpose of the nation.

The national values in the old testament Nigeria (1900 – 1960) formed by the colonial masters have all failed to stand the taste of the time. The new testament Nigeria (1960 -2020) pioneered by the nationalist movement and taken over by the military rulers has failed to identify the formation problems of the nation and therefore not able to offer sustainable solutions.

We have entered the era of the completed testament Nigeria (2020 – 2080) where the hopes and aspirations of the past 120 years should become a reality. The realization of the founding dreams requires a new national architecture.

In this age that we have entered without knowing, we need a new national code of conduct for all citizens, a new curriculum of education for families, schools and communities. We need a new national constitution for Nigeria.

In terms of national structure, we need a new Nigeria nation with healthy families as federating units where state of origin will disappear but place of residence may be considered. We need a new Nigeria where religions, tribes and tongues that differ will not count but citizenship. We need schools that recognize learning from the womb through the earth to life after death and we need interdependent communities not autonomous communities.

We need new national infrastructure from the nationwide resources that takes care of the immediate community and the wider Nigeria nation.

If our architects cannot design new models of the Nigeria nation that promotes religious harmony, regional integration and resources development and utilization, then the challenges of the moment may linger longer than expected and the founding purpose of this nation may be lost and the nation discarded as a failed nation
