A frontrow lmo born entrepreneur, Chief Fidel Anujuo has added his voice to the trending debate in lmo, over which of the three political zones in the State should produce the governor of the State in 2027 and who will ultimately succeed the incumbent governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, whose tenure will expire the same year.

Anujuo said, ” ensuring the fair distribution of our shared heritage and resources holds greater significance for the average lmo person than the geographical or Zonal origin of whoever is going to emerge as the Governor of the State”.

According to him, not ensuring fair or equitable distribution of the shared heritage and resources of the State could be rightly adjudged, one of the major reasons behind this Zonal campaigns or sentiments over which of the three zones in the State will produce the governor’s successor in 2027, adding that, such development isn’t good enough for the progress of the State.

Anujuo noted that, with all these emphases on zone in the choice of lmo governor in 2027, the State may not get it right afterall and such development would end up creating bad blood among the people of the three zones in the State, stressing that, the State needs unity of purpose to get to the next level of development.

His words, ” l am worried that this Zonal campaigns for the governor of the State have gained momentum. And nobody seems to be talking about other important factors that could bring growth and development to the State. That’s not healthy for the State to the best of my knowledge”

For him, ” lmo needs a governor that will see and treat the whole State as one. A governor that will ensure fair or equitable distribution of the common heritage and resources of the State. When this is happens , people will talk less about Zone. The zonal sentiment will dry up. Imo needs rapid development”.

He further explained, ” the common man or woman is interested in the impacts of governance in his or her daily life and not which zone produced the governor. Some of these issues should be properly situated. How does the government impact positively in the daily life of the Citizenry?. That’s the big question and not which zone produces the next governor”.
