The atrocities unfolding in Gaza as part of Israel’s October 2023 military operations have a deep, complex history. What is now being referred to as a genocide—an unrelenting campaign of mass violence and destruction—was not an impromptu decision, but part of a broader strategic doctrine that has been in play for over two decades. The Israeli government has invoked its doctrine of “Justified Vengeance,” first formulated in 2001, to frame its actions as defensive, claiming that despite Palestine’s limited military capability, it is the aggressor and that Israel has the right to “defend itself.” This justification has been the foundation of Israel’s militaristic response, which critics argue now constitutes a calculated genocide against the Palestinian people.

As the global community watches in horror, Paul Larudee rightly questions: “Is there a point at which the genocide in Gaza becomes egregious enough to provoke other countries to directly intervene in the Gaza Strip to prevent further genocide? Can Israel exterminate the entire population without anyone stopping them?”

The ongoing silence or tacit approval from many Western governments, coupled with the failure of international bodies like the International Criminal Court (ICC) to address these atrocities, reflects the grim reality that Israel’s actions have received far more diplomatic immunity than scrutiny. Rather than holding Israel accountable, the ICC has focused its efforts on accusing Palestine of war crimes, while conveniently sidestepping the overwhelming evidence of Israel’s genocidal campaign.

The situation is further complicated by reports of a “false flag” operation surrounding the events of October 7, 2023. Israel has labeled the Palestinian operation “Al-Aqsa Storm” as a surprise attack, using it as a pretext to launch its “State of Readiness for War” on the same day. But many intelligence experts have cast doubt on the narrative that this was a surprise, suggesting instead that it may have been a meticulously orchestrated operation involving intelligence assets within Hamas, working in coordination with Mossad and U.S. intelligence. Dr. Philip Giraldi, a former CIA official, has expressed skepticism, stating: “As a former intelligence officer, I find it impossible to believe that Israel did not have multiple informants inside Gaza.” Similarly, former IDF intelligence officer Efrat Fenigson raised questions about how Israel’s highly fortified and monitored Gaza border could have been breached so easily, calling the events “very strange” and *“unusual for the Israeli defense system.”

Such suspicions only deepen the sense of deception at play, where Israeli civilian casualties have been used as justification for a full-scale military campaign aimed at exterminating the Palestinian population. On the very day of the attack, Netanyahu’s government launched a premeditated military assault, revealing that the notion of “surprise” was merely a facade.

At the heart of this catastrophe are the innocent victims, many of them children like Aseel, a six-year-old Palestinian girl who lost her eye in an Israeli airstrike. As images of the devastation continue to circulate, the question remains: how long will the international community, media, and governments turn a blind eye to this genocide?

It’s time to confront the truth: this is not just a war—it’s a deliberate campaign of annihilation, carried out under the guise of self-defense. And if the global community remains passive, the slaughter in Gaza will continue unchecked, perpetuated by a regime emboldened by impunity and backed by Western powers complicit in its crimes.
