The 28 feet statue, Jesus the Greatest, which will be the fifth tallest statue in Africa, will be unveiled at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Abajah, Nwangele local government area of Imo state, on January 1, 2016.
The idea of the statue was conceived, funded, offered and donated to the church by Mr Obinna Onuoha, an illustrious Abajah son and MD/CEO of Premier Petroleum Limited manufacturers of the VIVA motor engine lubricants brand.
According to a statement signed by Onuoha’s assistant, the statue weighs a staggering 40 tons and is made of concrete and marble.
The Igwugwucheremba of Abajah, is a devout Catholic, whose immidiete elder brother is a Roman Catholic reverend father and who obviously has a lot to be thankful to God for.
