Goodluck Jonathan was the best executive President Nigeria ever had. This is the reason why APC is fighting the truth, they don’t want to be judged with his intimidating achievements.

*CNN Money projected that the fastest growing economy in the world in 2015 will be China (7.3% growth); followed by Qatar (7.1%) and then followed by Nigeria (7%). this attests to the astute management of the economy by the Jonathan administration under the ministerial assistance of the world renown economist Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
* Nigeria’s Gross domestic Product ranked the nation’s economy 1st in Africa and 26th globally; from 3rd and 46th respectively. The economy became more widely diversified than before.
* Foreign Direct Investment were boosted from US$24.9 million as at 2007 to over US$ 35 billion by 2014 and virtually all quoted companies doubled in size, assets and profit.
* Jonathan’s administration rendered over 25,000 kilometers of federal road motorable from barely 5,000 Kilometers as at 2011.
* Began work on second Niger bridge and Loko-Oweto bridge over river Benue.
* Nigerian railways was resuscitated from a 30-years old coma with over 3, 500 kilometers of lines operational.
* 22 airports remodeled to meet International standards and five International ones namely Lagos, Abuja, Portharcourt, Kano and Enugu.
* Agricultural transformation agenda made it possible to now export Cassava and increasingly attain 60% self-sufficiency in Rice production.
* The Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) voted Nigeria the largest producer of Cassava in the world.
* the Jonathan administration built six strategically-located perishable cargo airports in Ilorin, Jalingo, Jos, Lagos, Makurdi and Yola in close proximity to Nigeria’s food baskets.
* Under Jonathan’s administration Agriculture accounted for 22% of Nigeria’s GDP, more than Oil and Gas which only account for 15.9 percent. Nigeria recorded more than 50% reduction in food imports. Prior to his Presidency, we had a food import bill of 1.4 trillion naira but his policies reduced it to less than N700 billion.
* rehabilitation of 19 dams and construction of 14 irrigation projects – millions of Nigerian farmers are engaging in all season farming across the country except Boko Haram disturbed areas
* Jonathan’s administration resuscitated the Warri and Portharcourt Refineries that were deliberately left to rust and pine by preceding administrations.
* Power generation went up from some 2,000 megawatts in 2011 to some almost 5,000 megawatts in 2014. More independent power plants were commissioned. nevertheless there was sabotage by way of blowing up underwater gas pipelines in then APC controlled states – Lagos and Rivers states.
* Jonathan administration established 14 new universities and 150 almajiri schools in 13 northern states.
Under the Jonathan administration there had been a 10 million increase in school enrollment in Nigeria.
* People-oriented projects under the Subsidy Re-Investment and Empowerment Programme (SURE – P) helped create 1.6 million Jobs in 2013.
* Nigeria became the 23rd largest economy in the world overtaken European countries like Belgium and Austria.
* In 2010 when Jonathan was acting president, life expectancy in Nigeria was 47 years but by 2015 it was 54 years, an improvement of seven years.
* Maternal Mortality ratio in Nigeria was reduced by 26%
* Under Jonathan, Nigeria had become Guinea-worm-free; a disease previously affecting 800,000 Nigerians yearly. Polio was extinguished from Nigeria as no new cases were detected in the last nine months of his administration. Bill Gates, the richest man in the world and humanitarian philantropist hailed Nigeria’s fight against polio as one of the great world achievements of 2014.
* Between 2012 and 2015 the United nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) ranked Nigeria as the number one country for foreign investment with the fourth highest rate of returns on investments in the world. This was inspite of security challenges from Islamic Jihadists from the north.
* In 2010, when Jonathan came to power, Aliko Dangote (Hausa) was the 463rd richest man in the world with a total fortune of $2.1 billion. Jonathan’s policies and support made him the 23rd richest man in the world with a total of $25 billion.
* Transparency International in 2010 ranked Nigeria 134th out of 178 countries in corruption. Under Obasanjo Nigeria was 1st, 3rd and remained one of the most corrupt in the world.
* By instituting the e-payment system, Jonathan’s administration sanitized the civil service by removing 90,000 ghost workers in one fell swoop. The administration also got rid of ghost voters from the electoral register; over 1 million ghost voters were removed from Zamfara state INEC register alone.
* Under Jonathan’s administration Free and Fair elections were conducted in Edo, Anambra, Ondo, Ekiti and Osun.
* Under Jonathan’s administration Nigeria won the African Cup of Nations and Under 17 World.
 * Jonathan’s government for the first time in Nigeria conducted an election in which the opposition won and handed over power without incident.
#Those who fought Jonathan will soon be on their knees to beg him and ask forgiveness. It is very unfortunate that under 9 months, the Buhari APC government has ran Nigeria’s economy aground. The Buhari APC government has really messed Nigeria up. The Lying information minister Mr Lie Muhammed is not even helping matters at all. He is busy lying to Nigerians everyday about the state of the economy.
May God salvage Nigeria.

  1. This will not stop him from being questioned about the corruption that took place during his administration. How much was crude oil during his time in office.

  2. These are all wishes the government of Jonathan achieve. They were not all realised. In fact he was not able to achieve 8% of it. You cannot achieve 92% corruption and achieve even 50% development. Mba.

What were presented are researched facts Mr. Onyemaechi and not hear say, I urge you to present contrary facts if you have any and not come here to speak fallacies. Never too late to admit you made a wrong decision like so many are already doing. Cheers

This is glaring. You don’t investigate what you have on your hands. GEJ remains the best. No propaganda can change it.

  8. I enjoy reading stuff like this……paid media….beauty of democracy, well some people fed fat from GEJ and so will not see anything wrong, while on the other hand most people felt insulted by all the claims as against what was visible…my people (Nigerians) don’t like suffering for the sake of reforms as we see in this new government, they rather prefer to be in a government were corruption was seen as normal and receive stipend’s all in the name of welfare…guess the “suffering” we claim to be seeing now is visible because the rich and mighty are experiencing the wave of heat and pain the poor masses alone suffered in the past administrations

  9. Historically, Nigeria has never appreciated a good leader! Goodluck is lucky he was not murdered as they do! He was one of the best but Nigeria rejected him because, they enjoy hardship, though, the very hard up people tended to be the ones politicians use for their dirty job and after all is done they are abandoned by the very same people who connived to put them in power! Shame!

  10. In the light of these facts I have read very negative unsubstantiated comments against the past administration. The revelation on corruption is being wrongly attributed by those who do not realise what the job of the president entails. Nigeria is country with very weak institutions which must be strengthen over time to realise maximum development. It can never and will never be the job of one president. Those individuals found guilty of corruption and who undermind the public trust placed on them must be held individually accountable in a civilised manner but they must not be reason to fail to acknowledge, appreciate and recognise the factual achievement made by the past administration. This will remain my point of departure from those folk who are too emotional and self righteous to be rational on these issues.

    1. Your point is very clear and correct. The truth is that people need to remove sentiment when dealing with leadership issues. It goes beyond tribal and religious discuss. I pray that someone is able to let this government know that they need to fight the corruption system and not just go after people for purpose of scoring political points. If you live there today the whole thing starts all over and your efforts becomes fruitless. Thanks Wilson

(Mostly in the Niger Delta). Please, stop this gobbledygook and face the facts of life, for decade, it’s now I am seeing some things been rationalized as a country. Many Nigerians are angry because free meal is taken out of their mouth. You people should be truthful to yourselves and allow the truth to take this great nation Nigeria to its spick and span peak.

My advice, let buhauri sit down to engage the right people to work with the resources or finances that the country has instilled of galavesting and crying like town crier from one country to another. In words of wisdom: believe in yourself and your abilities not of others. Remember Bible says wisdom is a precinpal things.

  17. ….whao beautiful lies, if all you’ve written were true or are true, why were the masses clamouring for his exit , and still suffering. if he performed well, he would still be in power.
the fact is, our past leaders failed, esp in the aspect of re_investment, proper mgt of funds n resources, no respect for the rule of law(impunity) …the list goes. the present leaders met a chequered and comatose economy, of which will take more time, effort, great zeal and serious prayers to revive.
GEJ tried but along the line, he was carried away by lustful and selfish desires for personal wealth and also corrupt_ill advisers around him.
The present leaders are trying but they should put in more zeal and effort, listen to GOOD and innovative ideas or advise coming from not only the ministers but also from The masses who know where the shoe pinches.
Our Economy will surely revive and bounce back if we cooperate with the president, pray for him and also stop peddling false info and rumors.
Any leader who is not capable ought not to lead.
    GOD bless NIGERIA.

It is very unfortunate that in this 21st century some people can still be deceived / blindfolded and prepared a worded essay that is full of lies and still go ahead to publish it for the world to see. Truly. Nigeria’s issue goes beyond leadership but followership. Let’s forget about political parties/personalities, we need to think on the way forward. If GEJ won the last election, he would leave Aso Rock one day, the only thing that is permanent in life is change, let’s embrace change. It is well with our Country Nigeria in Jesus name.
