PRESS RELEASE:
We the illustrious Umunna and Umuada of ndi igbo join other notable Nigerians to welcome our eminent and noteworthy son, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who was recently granted bail after much hasseles and tussles.
We welcome the smooth perfection of the bail despite the stringent conditions attached to the bail which have also been questioned by many Nigerians and seems to be an infringement of the fundmental human rights of Mazi Kanu.
Also, we are hopeful that his colleagues Mazi Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Mazi Benjamin Madubugwu and Mazi Nwawuisi to also be allowed to enjoy the bail that has been previously granted by the court.
We shall continue to sustain the agitation for the final discharge and acquittal of Nnamdi Kanu, his other colleagues and indeed the release of all innocent persons unjustly detained over their brave expression of the infringement of their constitutionally guaranteed rights and freedom of association.
We commend the boisterous efforts of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyers together with those sons and daughters of our dear nation who gave full support and believed in the clarion call for action against the infringement of the fundamental rights of Nnamdi Kanu and his colleagues and for their unconditional release.
We acknowledge the efforts of all those that made contacts with him both in prison, during court hearings, and appreciate also those that made his bail arrangement possible. We also extend our hand of appreciation to the various groups and leaders who stood by him.
We strongly believe that the fundamental human rights of every citizen must be respected as constitutionally accrued to them. We deem it fitting that the government should aptly address the issues that generated the upsurge in agitations in the South Eastern part of the country and eschew the nefarious brutalization of innocent citizens which can only breed negative consequences.
Long live Ndi Igbo!
Long live Biafra!!
Solidarity is forever!!!
Signed:
National coordinator, NDIGBO THINK TANK GROUP.
Mazi Eric Eyutchae
