South East Governors played host to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at the Enugu State Government House, Enugu yesterday.
Speaking to journalists shortly after a closed door meeting, the Chairman of the South East Governors Forum who is also the Ebonyi State Governor, Engineer Dave Umahi said that the meeting is one of the series of moves initiated to peacefully address the various demands of the Indigenous People of Biafra.
Engineer Dave Umahi noted that the Governor’s having taken into consideration, the various demands and concerns of the IPOB, will do it’s best to resolve them, amicably.
Governor Umahi called on concerned stakeholders to ensure peace in all their dealings and statements, while the South East leaders further meet with the IPOB in the coming days.
Also present at the meeting were the Enugu State Governor, Right Honorable Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Governor Willie Obiano, represented by his Deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke, Elder statesman, Professor Ben Nwabueze, and Evangelist Eliot Uko.
