The Imo state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has concluded arrangements to expel Senator Hope Uzodinma from the party. Uzodinma, representing Imo West at the Senate was being accused of antiparty activities, reckless conduct and utterances in the media in recent times.
According to a communiqué issued at the end of an expanded caucus meeting of the PDP, Imo West senatorial district, Uzodinma’s activities “have without equivocation, portrayed the PDP in bad light and attracted opprobrium to respected leaders of our party and members in Orlu Zone (Imo West).
The communiqué, which was signed by 42 leaders of the party in Imo West including former Deputy Governor, Dr. Douglas Acholonu and former Deputy Speaker of the Imo House of Assembly, Chief Chuma Nnaji reads in part,
“we are indeed piqued that a two-time Senator under the platform of our great party, PDP, who ordinarily ought to be a role model, is rather indulging in subterranean activities targeted at undermining the party. “We authoritatively gathered that another political party, desperate to cling to power, has recruited the Senator for this hatchet and despicable job. “That we, therefore, appeal to the public to discountenance whatever action Senator Hope Uzodinma may claim to take on behalf of the PDP both at the State and Zonal levels in Imo State, as he does not have the mandate to do so.”
