Food for thought. The Igbo and The South East on my mind…! Tomorrow, it could be any of us, it could be the Yoruba….!

“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me— And there was no one left to speak for me.” ~ Martin Niemöller {1892–1984}

This True Quote of Martin’s has always appealed to my higher consciousness… And I’ve always known this is what may happen, regarding the uncertainties that some of us face in the Real, Clear and Present Regression to the Dark days of 1984 and Abacha Gestapo practices at these times…

I remember Martin as a priest, who at first supported Hitler, but later saw all the Evil of INIQUITIES, INEQUITIES, INEQUALITIES of Totalitarianism…!! Martin Niemöller was one of the earliest Germans to talk publicly” about broader complicity in the Holocaust and guilt for what had happened to the Jews.

In his book Über die deutsche Schuld, Not und Hoffnung (published in English as Of Guilt and Hope)—which appeared in January 1946—Niemöller wrote: “Thus, whenever I chance to meet a Jew known to me before, then, as a Christian, I cannot but tell him: ‘Dear Friend, I stand in front of you, but we can not get together, for there is guilt between us. I have sinned and my people has sinned against thy people and against thyself.“

Today as they came for BOG, it also occurred to my conscience that The Man Died – He who keeps Quiet in the face of Tyranny….!! Tomorrow, E fit be any of us, e fit be The South West, Abacha has done it before…! But at the end, this Liberty we all are fighting for, shall be ours…!

And Quoting another of the Great men who stood with The People, Benjamin Franklin said: “Anyone willing to give up liberty in exchange for security deserves neither.”

And to those thinking they are FREE because they support a regime that stifles the voice of opposition, to you another Quote from a Great embodiment of Wisdom, Goethe said: “None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.” Don’t just read this post and waka pass…

DO not for a second delude yourselves that, e no concern you… Just that, when they come for The Yoruba, others too will give us same treatment. Join the movement!! Say No to the Army of Occupation in the East, Now….!
