Nigeria government extra-judicial move by invading the residence of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu with military armoured tanks and whisking him away on September 14, 2017 is the height of court contempt by the executive arm of the government in a democratic Nigeria.
Let not the world forget in a hurry that Nigeria Federal High Court presided over by Justice Binta Nyako granted Mazi Nnamdi Kanu bail on the ground of deteriorating health condition but with the military capture of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his parents as ordered by Nigeria government on September 14, 2017 against the judicial procedures in Nigeria, Mazi Kanu has been denied further treatment. Nigeria government should produce Nnamdi Kanu or arraign him differently in another court by telling the world his new crime causing the raid in his residence.
But for Nigerian army to continue to hold him incommunicado thereby denying him access to treatment as stipulated in court is unacceptable to IPOB.
The Indigenous people of Biafra worldwide may hit the streets of Biafra Land with another gale of protest should Nigeria government continue to hold on Nnamdi Kanu against his court bail after Wednesday 27/9/2017 when the IPOB 7 days ultimatum given to Nigeria government for his release will expire.
There is no justification for keeping IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu incommunicado like this unless he is also among the people killed in the compound during the raid. If Nigerian army officers deployed to the compound for the unlawful raid have killed the IPOB leader, let them release his corpse and then taste the venom of his followers.
But for the army to be keeping him in the custody for 11 days now without arraignment or unconditional release is complete violation of his fundamental human rights at a time he was enjoying his bail granted him by a court in Nigeria. IPOB will not accept a situation whereby Nigeria government will bring Nnamdi Kanu to court on October 17, 2017 from the Nigerian military detention facility because Nigeria army detention facility is not his home.
So, the world must prevail on Nigerian government to respect the law by releasing Nnamdi Kanu before the next two days remaining in the ultimatum given by IPOB leadership.
Failure to release the IPOB leader and other people taken away from his residence, Nigeria government should be ready to kill all the Biafrans as they are going to hit the streets with protest to register their displeasure over such judicial impunity and sacrilege in a democratic Nigeria. A word is enough for the wise!
