DRAMA as Chief Victor Umeh engages INEC Boss and the IG of police, insists on a free, fair and credible election.

*”INEC should prove its integrity by conducting a credible election in Anambra state”* – Chief Victor Umeh

The chairman of Governor Willie Obiano Reelection Campaign Committee and Senator (in view) for Anambra Central, Chief Sir Victor Umeh OFR (Ohamadike Ndigbo) today stood tall on the floor of the Prof Dora Akunyili Women Development Center Awka to challenge the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the officers of the Nigerian Police Force against its alleged involvement in acts capable of jeopardising the peaceful conduct of the November 18th governorship election in Anambra state thereby insisting that the authorities owe ndị Anambra a peacefully and credibly conducted election with a level playing ground for all participants especially as the November 18th Anambra governorship election is a very important election in Igbo nation.

He presented the issues thus:

*Case No 1.* That the result sheets and election materials be brought to the polling units and ward collation centers at same time, to avoid delay.

*Case No 2.* That the deployment of members of the Nigerian Youth service Corps trained in Enugu to six local governments in Anambra state conforms with an earlier information revealing that the corp members were trained to be deployed to these strategic LGs to rig the election thus, demanding that they be redeployed from named LGs otherwise risk loosing the confidence of ndị Anambra on the poll.

*Case No 3.* The governor has raised an alarm and if the police is not ready do their work the way they aught to do it, we shall raise an alarm even to mr president.

*Case No 4.* The governor who’s first term will end on 16th of March next year is still a governor even though he is a candidate seeking reelection, this morning his security details were withdrawn by the ordered team of the IG of police, we won’t sleep over this… Something is happening in Anambra state and the people of Anambra should not be held responsible for whatever happens.

His points were however debated by the INEC Chairman, Prof Yakubu Mahmood and the Inspector General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris but for his courage and persistence, they were admitted, subject to a review.

The drama which lasted for about an hour brought about sympathy from everyone including candidates from other political parties who in an ovation for the wonderful speech by Chief Umeh joined their voices in calling on the authorities to respect the office of the governor of Anambra state and accord him with his full rights and benefits.
