Ahead of the September governorship primary election of the People’s Democratic Party in Imo State, a staunch member of the party, Chief Okey Udeagu, has urged the PDP delegates in Okigwe local government to cast their votes for Sen. Samuel Anyanwu (Samdaddy), to become the party’s governorship flag bearer in the state for the 2019 polls.
Speaking last Saturday during the Senator’s consultation of members of the party in the LGA, including statutory delegates, Chief Udeagu, who hails from Ihube Autonomous Community of the local government, said that with Sen. Anyanwu as Imo PDP’s governorship flag bearer, the party in the state was sure to make its long awaited return to Douglas House.
Describing Sen. Anyanwu, a former local government Chairman and House of Assembly member as a good product that markets itself, the PDP Chieftain urged the delegates not to waste their votes on an aspirant that cannot guarantee victory for the party.
“Samdaddy is a good product that markets itself. Therefore, the watch word or phrase is, “don’t waste your vote”. If you vote for a person that will not win in the general election, your vote is a waste”, he averred.
Instead, Chief Udeagu urged members, supporters and delegates of the PDP to queue behind Sen. Anyanwu, insisting that by doing so they will not be wasting their supports and votes.
“Look at him, in politics he is serial winner. Samdaddy is the man capable of winning the governorship election for Imo PDP. I urge you delegates to cast your votes for him to emerge as our flag bearer because you will not be wasting your votes by doing so”, he opined.
