The Yoruba on my mind and a certain reenactment of 1840.
My last thoughts as I turned in last night, was on the vastness of the Yoruba space. From Ọ̀yọ́-ilé to Jebba. From kabba to Ado-Ekiti, from Ado-Ekiti to Ikorodu, from Ikorodu to Ilorin, from Ilorin to Osogbo, from Osogbo to ilaro, from ilaro to Ọ̀rẹ̀, from Ọ̀rẹ̀ to Èkó, from Èkó to Ilé-Ifẹ̀, from Ilé-Ifẹ̀ to Abẹ́òkúta, from Abẹ́òkúta to Àbòdì, from Àbòdì to Ìmẹ̀kọ̀, from Ìmẹ̀kọ̀ to Ìbàdàn, from Ìbàdàn to ìbẹ̀jù-Lẹẹ́kkí, from Ìbẹ̀jù-Lẹẹ́kkí to Ọ̀yọ́, from Ọ̀yọ́ to Shagamu, from Shagamu to Ìdí-ìrókò, from Ìdí-ìrókò to Sẹ̀mẹ̀ and back to Ọ̀yọ́-ilé.
Forty Six million people, with a total landspace of 152,000 km².
And the order that keeps all together, our language, our culture, our industry, our ancestry, Odùduwà, Awolowo..
The beauty of our Skylines, just as they are, kept alive by our folklores, our heritage, dotting, bespeckling everywhere, Europe, the Western Hemisphere, Haiti, Cuba, Brazil, The Americas.
Looking out into the gloomy night of late, making no comparisons between right and wrong stars, nor between well and badly arranged constellations…I long for the perfect arraignment in our stars on nigh and among our stars on earth. I longed for an Obasanjo, Soyinka Constellation…!
And then I woke up to this news of Soyinka backing Obasanjo in a rare show of starry, grandee alignment.
Soyinka said — “I see that the government is not happy with the statement made by former President Obasanjo. Now, everybody knows me and Obasanjo, and at the same time, I think we should be very careful not to be too dismissive or even abrasive.
“Obasanjo was calling for a meeting of stakeholders to tackle some of the very serious aspects of social malaise this country is undergoing. He was talking about kidnapping, talking about youth suicide and stating that it is about time that across board, irrespective of ideology, party, religion, that we better all sit down and tackle these issues immediately; and I will suggest that even more immediate.
“This country is undergoing a horrendous descent into the abyss spiritually, morally, ideally”
Lest the Liars and the Hypocrites in Lai Mohammed, Sule Lamido, Shehu Sani, Ahmed Bola Tinubu rejoice, we must publish the meeting of Obasanjo and Soyinka further — “We are watching a huge mass of people descend into a state of brutishness, the like of which we have not experienced in this country. And so, if you go into the streets and you say Africa must unite, what the man in the street is going to say is Mr. Leader, will you get my people out of the kidnappers’ den first and then, I will come and talk to you about unity.”
The Heavens haven’t ever fought each other, but tiny men of Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen, whose brains are too small to grasp the immensity of the cosmos, go out at night to kill children and adults of whom they can not create a tiny strand of hair to add to their heads, but quick to snuff life out of them and yet our government, rather than put it immediate solutions would rather attack Obasanjo with the help of the type that sold us to the Fulani 220 years ago.
Strange is our situation here in Nigeria, the Yoruba….
The Yoruba, the largest of the federating units, have come with a certain expectation of equality, opportunity but has met with a dichotomy of lopsided distribution, Inequity, Iniquity and Inequality not knowing why this is happening yet sometimes seeming too divided to present a common purpose. 9ur brightest stars, Obasanjo and Soyinka, often at each others throat, playing into the hands of the oppressors.
From the standpoint of the Yoruba Ọmọlúwàbí philosophy, however, there is one thing we do know: that a Yorubaman is here for the sake of other Yorubamen – as well acted when there was an existential threat to our collective survival from the Fulani invasion with the amazement of Yorùbá forces put a stop to, on the 23rd of September, 1840.
Above all for those upon who heavens have smiled and the commonwealth has found abode, the well-being of our Yorùbá nation should beckon. Their happiness should depend upon the collective like in the days of Odùduwà and Awolowo, why this has not been so, I do not know….
Yet history abounds to them to realize that for them to have a base, the home front determines their own legacies.
To Not realize all of these — That primordially we exist for each other as we have evolved here for no less than 60,000 years as scientifically proven through human fossils retaining our unique DNA for Tens of thousands of years, is “Unyoruba” and that no matter how we fight within, the bonds remain unbroken as demonstrated by Obasanjo and Soyinka lately…..
The likes of Tinubu should also follow, lest what happened to the Yoruba collaborators with the Fulani on the aftermath of the Yoruba victory after the 1840 war should happen to them!
For anyone to deny the crucibles of disasters befalling the Yorùbá nation in recent times a passivity of the Tinubu type is culpability already!
For those who have a sense of history, the Yorùbá army in 1840, while releasing Jimba the Fulani army General, killed the Yoruba traitors, Solagberu and Co for their Treachery against motherland.
In Truth, this is looking like it is going to be 1840 all over again and our Generals are fusing, not fussing.
A Fulani menace, fueled by religious extremism, expansionism, funneled by incensed murderous intent to decimate and annex our homeland, our soul, by same vermins who do evil in the name of a deceptive tag of bandits, appearing as mere hoodlums, kidnappers, but in truth, these are just guises that are only to deceive, for the Real motive is an expansionist agenda and North-ing-else.
It is “Northing” but a Fulanisation Agenda and those attacking President Obasanjo are Northing but the modern day version of Afonja the Traitor.
Buhari’s Marchand ìṣe is Deceit, Taqqiya mere lickspittles!!
The overstretched pacifism of the bootlickers are all too familiar, their comeuppance all too fastened.
The Real people behind the carnage are terrorists, the nomenclature may change from Boko Haram to Fulani herdsmen to Bandits, essentially same of same — Fulani Irredeemable irredentists.
Simply put, this “Federalism” has failed us!
Sadly, I have come to this Profound inference, as Terror is the very opposite of Humanity.. And Terror has infused into Monstrosity of the Fulani kind!
At this point in time, confederacy or separateness of the “Araba” cry of the 50s, appear as The most holistic approach to finding Real answers to our base state of being a Fake Federation — Simply put, we need to Evolve away from this Monstrosity of Fulani Terrorism and focus more on our region on our Science, on our Spirituality and on our Creativity.
Our Identity, our Science and Creativity, live in the present, Spirituality being the anchor upon which the present is to be berthed!
The whole of our philosophical and spiritual teachings, as the Yorùbá of the Ọmọlúwàbí are anchored upon:
How to be in the present, how to get out of the past which is no more and how to not get involved in the future politics of a deceptive 2023, which is not yet, and just to be rooted, centered, in what will be The New Nation of the Yorùbá, which is what the future holds if our Nation is to rise again…!
The whole approach to a New Development is of utmost immediacy — without a deliberate effort, we are Doomed….of that, let no one deny.
Science will project rainfall two or three months earlier before the actual day and date…
The political soothsayers and APC trance travellers are incapable of such forecast.
The Real God of Life and Creation has empirically revealed His Happiness with those who use their BRAINS than robots who shout His Name when a slaughter is made.
And That is why atheist countries like China and Finland are far ahead in Technology, Growth and standards than almost ALL the most religious countries in the world…
Allah Akbar, has never made any country Great, nor does it make God great.
Will the world learn that it didn’t create itself.
Will the world know that everyone of us is created to be a support system to one another.
Can we for this once, leave politics alone And Focus on Humanity..
Let, Science, Creativity on the crest of Spirituality berth the New Yoruba and the New World Order, so that we can bridge the past and the future.
So that we all, and together can bridge many things:
We can bridge the East and the West,
We can bridge body and soul!
We all, can bridge the unbridgeable worlds, if we so Dare:
This Terror and that other monstrosity, Fulanisation the mundane and the madness, only if we learn to put our energies in creating, into fighting, into 1840!
After they have re-christened Boko Haram to ‘Armed Bandits,” and “Gunmen”, why wouldn’t Buhari on his valecdictory speech to his cabinet, have the grit to say they “ended” Boko Haram!??
Obasanjo and Soyinka are right;
Are you!!!???
