A source close to former president Obasanjo has revealed that the former president is trying to regain back his place in the Nigerian history. Obasanjo is said to be of the view that it is the turn of South East to produce Nigeria’s next president. It is believed that he is indirectly supporting Peter Obi to be the next president and as a result of that, he has been meeting with a lot of stakeholders in the 2023 presidential election to ensure Obi’s emergence as President in 2023.
There are some facts that have emerged following the recent engagement with some presidential aspirants by Obasanjo. A source who was there with Obasanjo when he met Governor Seyi Makinde, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Governor Nyesome Wike and Governor Samuel Ortom said that Obasanjo wants to claim back his position in history, the source believes he wants to secure back a spot in history, this is because of his involvement in the 2023 presidential election. Do also recall that Obasanjo had told Nigerians that very soon, he would announce his agenda in the coming presidential election, he stated this after he met two former leaders of Nigeria who are Former Heads of State General Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar.
