An Intelligence Warning to Nigerian Youths Ahead of the 2027 Elections.
The greatest threat to Nigeria in 2027 is not APC.
It is not PDP.
It is not ADC.
It is not Labour.
The greatest threat is a Nigerian youth whose mind has already been captured before he arrives at the polling unit.
Young Nigerians, it is time to break the religious cages that politicians have used for decades to imprison your political judgment. Stop introducing yourselves politically as, “I am Baptist, I am Methodist, I am Catholic, I am Pentecostal, I am Jehovah’s Witness, I am Holiness, I am Church of God in Christ,” as though these denominational identities should determine the future of Nigeria. The teachings of Jesus consistently pointed beyond human labels toward obedience to God, truth, righteousness and love for humanity. He was baptized, yet he did not identify himself aa a baptist or by a denomination that arose centuries later. He declared, “I am the way, the truth and the life,” and “I am the light of the world,” speaking in universal terms that transcended human divisions. Likewise, the Prophet Muhammad did not preach sectarian rivalry. Muslims today may identify as Sunni, Shia, Sufi and other traditions that developed over time, but the essence of Islam remains submission to the will of Almighty God. The lesson is larger than the labels. Do not allow identities that evolved through history to become political chains around your mind. Be guided by the enduring values your faith teaches, truth, justice, compassion, integrity and service to humanity, not by labels that politicians exploit to divide you. Let religion strengthen your character, not weaken your judgment. Let your faith inspire you to love your neighbour, uphold what is right, protect and honour your women, respect one another across every tribe and religion, and work together for the progress of one united Nigeria. In 2027, carry your faith in your heart, but carry Nigeria in your conscience. Vote not as members of denominations or sects, but as patriotic Nigerians determined to leave behind a nation that is more just, more secure, more prosperous and more united than the one you inherited.
For over six decades, Nigerian politicians have mastered one science better than governance, the science of division.
Whenever they cannot defend their record, they divide the people.
Whenever they have no answers to insecurity, they preach religion.
Whenever they have no solution to poverty, they preach ethnicity.
Whenever they have no vision for Nigeria, they remind you where you come from instead of where the country should be going.
It is the oldest political deception in Africa.
Keep the people divided…
…and they will never unite to demand good leadership.
Every election, millions of young Nigerians are recruited into battles that are not theirs.
Christian versus Muslim.
North versus South.
Igbo versus Hausa.
Yoruba versus Fulani.
Minority versus Majority.
Meanwhile, those who benefit from these divisions meet behind closed doors, negotiate political alliances, share appointments, protect one another and move on to the next election.
The people remain divided.
The political class remains united.
Young Nigerians must ask themselves one uncomfortable question.
Who benefits from our division?
Certainly not the unemployed graduate.
Certainly not the struggling farmer.
Certainly not the trader battling inflation.
Certainly not the family displaced by insecurity.
Certainly not the millions of Nigerian youths searching for opportunities that never come.
So let us speak honestly.
Human beings created institutions.
God created humanity.
Religion was never intended to become a political prison.
Faith should guide the conscience.
It should never be weaponised to capture the ballot.
Ask yourselves another question.
Will inflation disappear because your President attends your church?
Will insecurity end because your Governor belongs to your mosque?
Will electricity improve because your Senator shares your denomination?
Will your degree suddenly produce employment because your Minister speaks your language?
If the answer is no…
…why are Nigerians still voting as though religion were a development policy?
Hunger has no denomination.
Poverty has no tribe.
Kidnappers do not ask whether their victims are Christian or Muslim.
Unemployment does not recognise North or South.
Inflation does not distinguish between Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Ijaw, Tiv, Kanuri, Ibibio, Efik or Nupe.
Bad governance is an equal opportunity destroyer.
Good governance is an equal opportunity liberator.
This is why the youth of Nigeria must become the first generation to reject political slavery disguised as religious loyalty.
Remain faithful to your religion.
Remain committed to your beliefs.
Pray in your church.
Pray in your mosque.
Worship according to your conscience.
But when you enter the polling booth…
Leave your denomination outside.
Leave your tribe outside.
Leave political propaganda outside.
Walk into that polling booth with only one identity.
Nigerian.
Judge every candidate by measurable standards.
Character.
Competence.
Integrity.
Capacity.
Vision.
Courage.
Compassion.
Proven service.
Accountability.
Not by his church.
Not by his mosque.
Not by his surname.
Not by his language.
Not by the region from which he comes.
Remember this.
The same politicians who ask you to hate one another during campaigns are often photographed laughing together after elections.
Do not inherit political enemies.
Choose your convictions independently.
Nigeria does not need Christian votes.
Nigeria does not need Muslim votes.
Nigeria needs intelligent votes.
Nigeria does not need ethnic votes.
Nigeria needs informed citizens.
Our greatest national resource is neither crude oil nor natural gas.
It is the possibility that over 230 million Nigerians can finally think beyond the artificial walls erected by politics.
The politicians built those walls.
You have the power to pull them down.
Sit together.
Talk together.
Disagree respectfully.
Listen before judging.
Challenge policies instead of attacking identities.
Build friendships across faiths and ethnicities.
Protect one another.
Honour your women.
Defend justice wherever you find it.
And remember that no nation has ever developed because its people perfected the politics of division.
Nations rise when citizens unite behind competence, justice and the common good.
In 2027, do not ask:
“Is he one of us?”
Ask instead:
“Can this person move Nigeria forward?”
That single question may determine whether Nigeria remains trapped by the past or finally begins to build the future its people deserve.
Break the cages.
Think independently.
Vote intelligently.
Choose Nigeria.
History will not remember the denomination that won the election.
History will remember the generation that finally chose nation over division.
One Nation. One Future. One Destiny.
